Christian Stangl's exhibition from 2011 brings together two of his photographic themes that are at first glance completely contrary:
Architecture and mushrooms.
One is created by man, artificially and huge, the other created by nature, organic and small.
Both are habitats.
Like in our buildings the fruiting bodies of the fungi are inhabited by small life forms, such as spiders, snails and insects. You can rarely see the residents, but you can feel their presence. The 300 m2 Artspace KA12 at the Palais Kabelwerk, Vienna was used to confront and connect both worlds in large format prints.
